Why I’m fishing every country
Fish Caught One Lap Around is a page dedicated to my quest to catch a fish in every country I visit (I’ll keep a side count of each species too). The idea was born from my passion for fishing, my solo motorcycle trip around the world, and my own competitiveness. This challenge will test my skills as an angler (I’m a novice fly fisherman at best), while also helping me accomplish another trip goal: riding in remote areas over populated ones.
Fishing began for me as a small child. Some years I fish a lot; others barely at all. My love for being on the water, and trying to outsmart the fish never diminishes. Though the majority of my fishing is done on a bait caster, I’ve chosen a fly rod for the challenge and the beauty of it. Catching a fish on a fly is just so special.
