Critters Seen | One Lap Around

Wildlife overview

This page is a dedicated record of Critters Seen during One Lap Around. It tracks my lifelong love for wildlife, from majestic bears to tiny pika (which might just be my favorite of all). I’ve always preferred watching animals interact with their natural environment versus at a zoo. I truly believe we are just visitors in their backyard. Throughout this journey, I’ll be keeping a close eye on the landscape to add new sightings to my “Life List” of critters.

Some of my favorite critters I’ve had the pleasure of seeing include the American Beaver, Long-tailed Weasel, Pika, Eastern Newt, and Mountain Lion, just to name a few.

This Critters Seen list is just one of many I maintain. From total countries visited to the specific birds seen, you can find all the statistics for the curious traveler on our main Adventure Counts Page.

The List

Critter I hope to see

Since my trip has yet to start, this page is lacking. Below you will find some of the critters I’m most excited to see during the first stage of my adventure. This of course is a wish list and not set in stone. This is just the first stage of many, and the ultimate goal is to grow the record of critters seen during one lap around right alongside the journey itself as I explore new continents. As the adventure continues I’ll update this wist list and the gallery with animals I’ve seen.
